A tuberous (tubular) breast is a congenital shape with a narrow base, a tubular/conical form, an underdeveloped lower pole and a widened/herniated areola. Correction releases the constricted tissue, expands the lower pole and, where needed, adds an implant to create a natural, symmetrical breast.
What Is a Tuberous Breast and Who Is It For?
It is for people with a congenital breast shape that is narrow-based, tubular, with an insufficient lower pole and a widened/puffy areola. It is often noticed in adolescence and can be one- or two-sided and asymmetrical.
It is planned individually by the degree of deformity: tissue release, expansion of the lower pole, areola reduction and, in most cases, an implant or fat transfer together.

Procedure and Recovery
It is performed under general anaesthesia. A surgical bra is worn the first days; swelling and tenderness subside within a few weeks. Return to work is at 1 week and heavy sport at 4–6 weeks.
